Film screening “distant—brains” 16.1.2026 at the Champalimaud Foundation
On Friday, 16 January at 8pm my latest film “distant—brains” (cérebros, distantes) screens at the Champalimaud Foundation Auditorium in Lisbon, as part of the art-science programme Bridges to the unknown. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Joana Rafael, researcher and architect, Tiago Marques, Principal Investigator at the Champalimaud Foundation, moderated by curator Julia Albani. The conversation will be in English. Entry is free, but registration is required (register here).
The film is at the centre of my current exhibition at the Museu do Neo-Realismo, in Vila Franca de Xira (on view through 22.02.2026), and of a new book published by Pierrot le Fou. The project unfolds across a sequence of episodes in which robots interact with other intelligent species in different contexts—factories, universities, laboratories, and hospitals. It aims to be both an archaeology and a memory of the present time, reflecting a society in transition.
